Welcome to Luke Yates Adventure!

I am a freelance journalist and photographer. I cover endurance and adventure sports, and photograph sport and nature. My work has appeared in publications such as Triathlon Magazine Canada and the Adventure Sports Journal, as well as online for Ironman.

I will soon be moving to New Zealand to begin the next stage of my adventures! I compete in long-distance triathlons and will be planning new expeditions for the future. My goal for my time in New Zealand is to go longer and wilder in my races. This means potentially stepping up to a full Ironman triathlon, and jumping into some adventure racing, such as the Coast-to-Coast. To say I’m excited is something of an understatement.

And how did this wild journey begin? With my first crazy adventure. From September 2014 to August 2015, I cycled halfway round the World from Perth in Western Australia to New York City. My route took me across Australia, through New Zealand, up the West Coast of the USA and across Canada.
